Alston Youth Hostel is open all year round

(Exclusive Hire only between 1st Nov – 1st March)

Reception Opening Times – 8:00am to 10:00am & 17:00pm to 21:00pm

Check in –  from 17:00pm

  • If you need to check in earlier (from 4pm), especially in the winter, contact us before you arrive to make arrangements.

Check out – By 10:00am

  • On check out day you must vacate your room and the hostel by 10:00am to allow the staff to clean the rooms and communal areas ready for the next guests.
  • On departure day, if you would like to leave your car here for a while, please check with the hostel staff that this is OK. All cars, however, must be removed 4pm to make way for the next guests.
  • For Exclusive Hire Weekend customers check in is from 4pm on day of arrival and check out at 10am on the day of departure.

Luggage Transport & Support Vehicles

If you are having your bags carried by one of the luggage carrying companies e.g. Brigantes or Sherpa please let us know in advance when it is to be delivered to us so that we can try to be here to accept it from the driver or make arrangements for them to leave it in a secure place.

If you are doing the C2C and have a support vehicle that may arrive at the hostel prior to the participants again, please let us know in advance if they are likely to be here before 4pm.
