The dining room sits up to 30 people and overlooks the South Tyne River, The Pennine Way and the trees where red squirrels can regularly be seen feeding from the feeders we keep topped up for them. It’s ideal for big groups or large family gatherings!

Next door to the dining room is a comfortable lounge area with soft settees and plenty of books, board games and magazines where you can sit back and relax. Patio doors lead out onto a patio area overlooking the river and Pennine Way. Ideal in the summer to sit out and chill after a hard day’s hike or cycle.

Next door to the drying room is a large secure indoor bike store which can take up to 23 bikes (with overflow to take up to 30 when required). We also have a small bicycle repair kit available to use, a tyre pump and bike washing facilities to make sure your bike is good to go the next day!

Laundry There is a domestic washing machine available in the drying room for guests to use for the washing of personal laundry.

£2.00 for a half load – £3.00 for a full load  or 50p for just a spin (includes washing powder available at reception)

Towel Hire We have a small number of towels that you can hire for £2. All the money goes towards our Red Squirrel food fund!

Wifi We have free Wifi available in the hostel for your own internet devices or phones.
